What you need to apply
Bank statement in the applicant's own name with more than USD 10,000, issued within 30 days of the visa application.
Graduation certificate with apostille or Korean consular confirmation, issued within six months of applying.
Applicants from 23 listed countries need a guarantee form signed by a Korean citizen living in Korea, with the guarantor's proof of employment, notarized. The list includes Nepal, Nigeria, Vietnam, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, Pakistan and others.
D-4 applicants register for at least 2 terms.
Housing
We couldn't verify dormitory options for the regular program. Ask KLEC before you apply.
Route to a degree
The afternoon program (KAP) lists a partial exemption from admission fees when entering Sogang University, and term scholarships for good grades.
Refunds
Full tuition back before the first class, then falling to nothing after day 40. The application fee is never refunded. No specific rule for visa refusal was found.
Our view
What this really means
Sogang suits students who want to speak, not just pass tests. But the Korean-guarantor rule rules it out for many applicants from our main countries unless they have a Korean citizen willing to sign.
