Kyung Hee University
A private university with a Seoul campus in Dongdaemun, strong in hospitality, tourism, business and the arts, and a Global Campus in Yongin for engineering, computing, international studies and design. It runs two application rounds for each spring intake.

What this really means
Kyung Hee counts the postmark, not the arrival date, which is kinder to overseas applicants than most universities. But the real crunch comes after admission: tuition, apostilled final documents and your bank statement are all due within about two weeks of results, across the New Year holiday. Start your apostille now, not after Dec 24.
English-track majors
An English track is a separate admission unit where most of the credits you need to graduate are taught in English, and your English is checked at admission.

Not sure of your major? The free major divisions
Seoul campus
International freshmen take courses designed for international students. In year two, with TOPIK 4, you can choose almost any major on the Seoul campus. The Global Business major, created for international students, is open regardless of your TOPIK level.
Global Campus
Choose any department on the Global Campus from year two, with the exception of the Post Modern Music department.
Medicine, dentistry, Korean medicine, pharmacy, nursing, the display science division and the arts are excluded from free choice.
Language requirements
Korean-taught majors require proof of Korean; English-track majors require proof of English. The exact levels are set in the 2027 guideline.
No TOPIK yet? KHU has its own test
Kyung Hee runs the KHU Korean Test for applicants who need to meet the language requirement, usually in March and August. A session in October 2026 has also been announced, which lines up with round 2. It's currently an oral test and you apply online.
Details that trip people up
Arts applicants: round 2 only
Music, dance and fine arts on the Seoul campus only recruit in the second spring round, with a practical exam on Dec 12. If that's you, this is your window.
Chinese language major
Chinese nationals can't apply to the Chinese language department, unless they graduated from high school in Korea.
Is Kyung Hee a good fit for you?
A strong fit for hospitality, tourism, business or the arts in Seoul, or engineering and design at the Global Campus.
Still possible for March 2027: round 2 opens Oct 26, when most top universities have already closed.
Think twice if you can't get apostilled documents and a bank statement ready by early January.
